CINC was started in 1984.  There was a public meeting as there was a public demand for a neighbourhood centre with an initial $500 to start off. We were off and running with the first committee formed.  We were community driven. CINC set up home at St Johns Anglican Church rectory, actives commenced with volunteer workers and a volunteer committee.

Key milestones

1987 saw our first lot of funding received and by 1989 we were funded for Home Modification, Host Family Respite, Family Support as well as offering a wide range of support groups.

1990 saw Community Transport commence, with trips to Bathurst and Orange for medical appointments.

1998 saw CINC move to the present site. We created extra space for visiting services.

2009 saw CINC involved with council’s social plan.

In 2014, CINC took the hard road of undergoing a massive restructure of the entire organisation. Although a very hard decision at the time, it has proven worthy with the growth of CINC both professionally and within the community we serve and the additional services we provide.

Staff overview

CINC has a highly educated and experienced staff base that are forward thinking, highly motivated and outward looking. We are qualified in the delivery of Community Services, Youth Work and Psychology.

Partnerships and key relations

We are well placed and respected in the community, with a strong track record of working in collaboration with other organisations. We have a variety of networks that we partner with. Some of these are Cowra Shire Council, Cowra Tourism Corporation, Health, Juvenile Justice, Education, Lands Council, Elders Group, PCYC and local area command and Weigelli drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre.

Volunteers are the most important resource our organisation has. People coming and working together for the betterment of our community and themselves is invaluable.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, each bringing something special to CINC; we hope we provide a meaningful experience for our volunteers as well. We could not achieve what we do in our community, without the enormous contribution of time and skills given so freely by our volunteers.
